Welcome back to my series on author earnings, in which reveal exactly how much I’ve earned from writing each year since I signed with my agent, and break down the sources of that income.

If you’d like a bit more context to this series, read my introductory post to it here.

Thus far, I’ve covered my first four years as an author, and provided a bit of background to each.

But what did I earn in my fifth year as an author?

Year 5 – the context

At this point, I was still working 25+ hours a week in hospitality.

At the start of this financial year, I’d had three books published, two of which had earned out their advances.

By the end of the financial year, I had five published books to my name.
